Antioxidant Properties of Hibiscus mutabilis L. Seedling Leaves under NaCl Stress

Abstract：Using seedlings of Hibiscus mutabilis L.cv.Zuifurong and Mudanfen as experimental materi-als,the salt tolerance and physiological mechanism were analyzed through measuring the leaf relative water content and antioxidant enzyme activities,such as SOD,POD and CAT,under NaCl stress with pot culture method.The results showed that under salt stress conditions,the seedling leaves of Zuifurong had higher water retaining capacity and average antioxidant enzyme activities than those of Mudanfen.This research provided reliable theoretical bases for salt resistance identification and selection of Hibiscus mutabilis L.cultivars in gar-den cultivation.
