Abstract:The Chinese spring onion variety Zhangqiu was taken as material to study the effects of differ-ent water stress levels on growth, yield and quality. The results showed that under the mild water stress treat-ment (T3),the cauloid diameter was significantly higher than that of CK,the cauloid length was significantly lower than that of CK,and the yield per plant showed no significant difference with that of CK.Under the moderate (T2)and high (T1 )water stress treatments, the growth was obviously inhibited, the accumulated quantity of dry matter significantly decreased.Under the treatment of T1,the plant height, cauloid diameter and cauloid length decreased by 49.65%,32.73% and 37.23% respectively compared with that of CK,and the yield reduction rate was as high as 30.50%.The results also showed that water stress could obviously im-prove the quality of Chinese spring onion,in which, the improve range of T1 was higher, while that of T3 was less.Considering the yield, under the treatment of T3,the yield and quality of Chinese spring onion could be simultaneously improved. Therefore, the watering quantity could be moderately declined to improve the quality of Chinese spring onion during cultivation.
