Abstract:In order to reveal the optimum nitrogen rate of Yuyan 12 in Luoyang tobacco growing area, the effects of different nitrogen application rates on agronomic traits, chemical composition, appearance quality and economic characters of Yuyan 12 in Luoyang were studied. The results indicated that when the nitrogen application rate was 45 kg/hm2 ,Yuyan 12 had better agronomic characters, higher yield and proportion of high quality tobacco, better appearance quality, well proportioned chemical components and the highest output value. When the nitrogen application rate was 52 kg/hm2 ,Yuyan 12 had the best agronomic characters, but lower proportion of high quality tobacco and appearance quality, and not proportioned chemical components because the leaves were hard to curing under higher nitrogen application rates. All the indexes of Yuyan 12 performed worse under the low nitrogen treatment. Therefore,Yuyan 12 could obtain the best yield and quality benefits when the nitrogen application rate was 45 kg/hm2 in Luoyang tobacco growing area.
