Pharmacognosy Study on Three Strains of RAPHANI SEMEN

Abstract：The color,shape,length,width,weight and micro -morphological features of 3 strains of RAPHANI SEMEN were observed.The total flavonoid content was determined by UV.The contents of sinap-ine and glucoraphenin were determined by HPLC,and then were compared.The results showed that there were significant differences in morphological characters and active ingredients of the 3 strains of RAPHANI SEMEN. The 3 strains could be distinguished by morphological characters and micro-morphological features.The medic-inal value of red radish seeds reached its peak when it was evaluated with the contents of active ingredients such as total flavonoid,sinapine and glucoraphenin.It was suggested that the total flavonoid and glucoraphe-nin should be added into Chinese Pharmacopoeia as internal parameters to analyze the content and control the quality of RAPHANI SEMEN in general.
