Abstract:Fourteen Acer truncatum clones were chosen as experimental materials to explore their differ-ences in grafting survival ability with double tongue grafting method.Their grafting survival rates and spring twig traits were analyzed and compared. The results showed that 35 days after grafting was the suitable time to estimate the seedling survive or not.The survival rates among 14 clones were extremely significantly different. The clone 1 -6 had the highest grafting survival rate of 64.17%,and that of clone 6 -1 was the lowest of 10.00%.The longest young leaf ornamental period reached more than ten days, while the shortest was only three to five days. The shoot height was significantly different among the 14 clones, the highest after grafting for 2 months was clone 1 -6 as 41.23 cm,and the lowest was clone 6 -1 as 18.35 cm.
