Effects of Different Densities and Row Spacings on Growth and Yield of Summer Maize

Abstract：Under two densities of 60 thousand and 75 thousand plants per hectare, five kinds of row spacing were designed as 50, 60, 70, 80 cm and 80 cm +40 cm to study their effects on the growth and yield of Zhengdan 958.The results showed that density had significant influences on ear height and stem diam-eter;different row spacings had different influences on plant height, ear height and stem diameter, and 60 cm and 70 cm of row spacing treatments had higher influences.The influences of different densities and row spac-ings were not significant on the dry matter accumulation, leaf SPAD value at different stages and yield of corn. So, setting the row spacing as 60 cm was the best in the tested density ranges.
