Effects of Different Nutrient Solution Formulas on Growth and Physiological Characteristics of Garlic Seedlings

Abstract：The liquid culture experiments were conducted with different nutrient solution formulas to ana-lyze their effects on the growth,photosynthetic parameters,pigment content and enzyme activities of seedlings of Jinxiang garlic with purple skin.Based on the standard solutions of Hoagland and Arnon,the tested formu-las were set as standard one (A),a half of A solution (B)and improved solution (C).The deionized water was used as control (CK).The results indicated that the garlic seedlings could grow normally in the three kinds of nutrient solutions,but the plant height,pseudostem diameter,leaf weight and pseudostem weight of A and C treatments were better than those of B treatment.The seedlings grew the best in the C solution with the highest photosynthetic characteristics,chlorophyll content and enzyme activities.Therefore,C was the most suitable nutrient solution for growth of garlic seedlings.
