Abstract:Gisela is a dwarfing rootstock for sweet cherry. In order to provide theoretical references for transplanting of its young cutting plants from plastic tunnel into open field, the leaf morphology and photosyn-thetic characteristics of potted Gisela 6 seedlings were compared in and out of plastic tunnels. The results indi-cated that compared to plants in open field, the leaf weight, chlorophyll content of tunnel plants and apparent quantum yield increased by 51.0%,81.2% and 29.91% respectively, while the specific leaf weight, ratio of chlorophyll a to b,carboxylation efficiency, photosynthetic capacity, light compensation point, light saturation point and water use efficiency reduced by 35.9%,18.9%,20.59%,18.49%,45.90%,28.57% and 15.98% respectively. The tunnel plants had a wider range of optimum photosynthetic temperature as 25 ~32℃.The induced rate and its value of non -photochemical quenching (NPQ)in tunnel plant leaves were obviously lower than those in field plant leaves. In conclusion, the seedlings growing in conditions of low light and higher air humidity in plastic tunnel had lower photosynthetic capacity and thermal dissipation rate, and they could not reach to the level of field plants even if after adapting training for 20 days.
