Assessment on Farmland Use Sustainability Based on Emergy Ecological Footprint---Taking Rizhao City of Shandong Province for Example

Abstract：Based on emergy ecological footprint,the farmland use sustainability of Rizhao City was stud-ied.The results showed that,during the study period,the farmland emergy carrying capacity per unit area had been in a low level with no obvious changes;the farmland emergy ecological footprint generally increased;the ecological deficit generally increased but showed decreasing trend in recent two years.The analysis of sustain-ability index showed that the farmland use sustainability decreased at first but increased in recent years. Therefore,in order to achieve the farmland sustainable development in Rizhao City,the farmland resources should be further protected,the farmland quality,infrastructure construction,agroecological environment and grain yield per area should be improved and the population increase should be rationally controlled.
