Abstract：Through the analysis of maize grain grouting and dehydration process,the mistake of the maize "dehydration rate"was pointed out;the "net dehydration rate"was put forward as the evaluation index of maize dehydration dynamic;the advantage that dehydration of XY335 was faster than ZD958 was that its early dehydration was quick;the harvest time of Huang -huai -hai region representative maize varieties was earlier than physiological maturity while it of the northeast spring maize varieties was opposite.The grain mois-ture of harvest should be the mature standard and the dry weight of maximum at harvest time should be the breeding goal in maize breeding.
