Research on Ecological Sustainable Development Ability of Pingjiang County Based on Ecological Footprint Method

Abstract：Ecological footprint is a biophysical method to evaluate the regional sustainable development based on the ecological productive area.In this paper,the ecological footprint and capacity in Pingjiang Coun-ty of Hunan Province from 2009 to 2014 were calculated using the ecological footprint model.The results showed that the local per capita ecological footprint increased from 1.818221364 hm2 in 2009 up to 1. 878043008 hm2 in 2014,which had an increase amplitude of 3.30%.The per capita ecological capacity in-creased from 0.603669045 hm2 in 2009 up to 0.619426861 hm2 in 2014,which had an increase amplitude of 2.61%.The per capita ecological deficit increased from 1.214552319 hm2 in 2009 up to 1.258616147 hm2 in 2014,which had an increase amplitude of 3.63%.The ecological footprint of ten thousand yuan GDP de-creased from 1.956722615 hm2 in 2009 down to 1.071649702 hm2 in 2014.
