Abstract:Using the cultivar Zhengdan958 as material, the effects of seven different planting densities on its agronomic characters and yield were studied by the field experiments in 2012 and 2013.The results showed that the plant height, ear height and lodging rate increased with the increasing of plant density, while the lodg-ing resistance decreased. The yields in the 2 years both increased firstly and then decreased. The planting density with the highest yield was different between the 2 years. In 2012,75 000 plants per hectare was the optimum planting density. However,in 2013,the maximal grain yield was obtained at 90 000 plants per hec-tare because the higher lodging rate led to the decrease of ear number.
