Effects of NaCl Stress on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Isatis indigotica

Abstract：In this experiment, the germination test with culture dishes was conducted to study the effects of NaCl stress on seed germination and seedling growth of Isatis indigotica.The results indicated that compared with CK, the treatment with low NaCl concentration (≤20 mmol/L) had no significant effects on germination percentage, germination index, vigor index and germination velocity index, while that with high NaCl concen-tration (≥60 mmol/L) decreased the seed germination parameters significantly.The treatments with 10~20 mmol/L NaCl increased the seedling growth, and had no significant effect on MDA content.But under 40~100 mmol/L NaCl treatments, the seedling growth was inhibited and the MDA content increased significantly.
