Abstract:Stem rust resistance genes Sr25 and Sr26, derived from Thinopyrum ponticum, are resistant to the super pathogen Ug99 and its varieties. Two octoploids Trititrigia carrying Sr25 and/or Sr26 were developed from the crosses between Th.ponticum and Triticum aestivum in our lab.In this study, several cultivars such as Jimai 22 and Tainong 18 were crossed and backcrossed with the two octoploids Trititrigia, and then nine new germplasms carrying Sr25 and/or Sr26 were developed by marker assisted selection from the segregative generations. These germplasms had better comprehensive agronomic traits, so they could be used in disease-resistant wheat breeding to deal with the threat of Ug99 .
