Abstract:The urea and resin coated urea fertilizers ( RCU) were used to study their different application methods on soil NO 3--N content and wheat yield .The results indicated that compared with 100%urea applied as basal fertilizer ( BF) , the application of 50%N as basal and 50%N as topdressing ( BT) could significant-ly decrease the NO 3--N content in 0~20-cm soil at jointing stage , and slow down the move of NO3--N from upper soil to deep soil .The treatment BT could increase the NO 3--N content in middle and top soil at flower-ing stage, and was beneficial to meeting the nitrogen need of wheat at late stage .The application effect of RCU on NO3--N content in soil was the same as that of BT , and could significantly improve the NO 3--N content in soil from jointing to flowering stages .Compared with the BF treatment , the BT treatment significantly in-creased the population quantity after anthesis and the percentage of earbearing tiller .Compared with BT treat-ment, the application of RCU was more beneficial to increasing the tiller and spike number , and could signifi-cantly improve the accumulation of dry matter in stem , sheath and grain , the numbers of spike and kernel per spike and the grain yield .
