Abstract:In order to protect and utilize Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge f.alba, and improve its cultivation techniques , 5 different potassium fertilizer treatments were set to study the effects on its growth and develop-ment, yield, quality and nutrient utilization .The results showed that potassium fertilizer had close relation-ships with yield of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge f.alba.Suitable rate of potassium fertilizer could promote its plant growth .However , with the increase of yield and application rate of potassium fertilizer , the potassium use rate and active components in root decreased , while the dry matter and output of active components in-creased compared with CK .The optimal application rate of potassium fertilizer for Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge f . alba was 253 .6 kg/hm2 .
