Effects of CPPU on Wheat Tillering

Abstract：The winter wheat cultivar Weimai 8 was used to study the effects of different concentrations of CPPU on wheat tillering and plant development in the laboratory and field .The results showed that CPPU could induce tillering of wheat seedling .When the CPPU concentration was below 6 μmol? L-1 , the number of tillers increased with the increase of CPPU concentration .And with the extension of treating time , the ratio of seedlings with secondary tillering increased .But there was pernicious effects on seedlings when the CPPU concentration was above 10 μmol? L-1 .The number of productive ear increased with the increase of CPPU concentration in certain concentration range .The expression quantity of auxin synthesis gene , TaYUCCA10, was higher after treated with CPPU than that of control , and raised with the extension of treating time .
