Analysis of Plant Height and Internode Length of Different Wheat Varieties (Lines)

Abstract：This study analyzed the plant height and internode length of 20 wheat varieties (lines).The results revealed that the decrease of plant height in dwarf wheat lines was determined by the decrease of inter -node length , especially the basal internodes .The proportion of the same internode to plant height was similar among materials with similar plant height , while it changed obviously in materials with different plant heights . The plant height component indexes of 31504-1 and 31505-1, two dwarf Trititrigia lines, were significantly larger than those of the other wheat materials , which suggested that their lodging resistance was more stable;so it was important for the genetic improvement of wheat .
