Abstract:Using Zhangqiu Welsh onion variety Dawutong as material , the effects of seedling in autumn or spring , cutting or not cutting leaves , and grading treatment of seedling size on its agronomic characters in-cluding plant height, stalk length, stalk diameter, single plant weight and yield per 666.7m2 were studied. The results showed that using the grade 1 seedlings bred in autumn and not cutting leaves , the Welsh onion could obtain the best agronomic characters .The seedling size significantly affected the related agronomic char-acters.Cutting leaves reduced the leaf number of adult plants significantly , and obviously reduced the yield of grade 2 and 3 seedling treatments , but had little effects on yield of grade 1 seedling treatments .The plant height and stalk length were significantly higher using the seedlings bred in autumn .The stalk diameter and plant height of Welsh onion could significantly affect the single plant weight and yield per 666.7m2 .
