Molecular Identification of an Isolate of Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus Infecting Loofah in Shandong

Abstract：An isolate of cucumber green mottle mosaic virus ( CGMMV) was obtained from loofah show-ing typical symptoms in Taian , Shandong Province , in 2013 .The nucleotide sequence of the coat protein ( CP) of this isolate ( CGMMV-SDLoofah ) was amplified and sequenced using specific primer pair CG -CPF/CPR.The sequence analysis showed the sequence of CGMMV -SDLoofah ( GenBank accession number:KJ187042 ) had 92 .6% of identity with other isolates of CGMMV in GenBank , so it was confirmed as the CGMMV.The phylogenic analysis results indicated that CGMMV -SDLoofah could be clustered together with Liaoning isolate ( CGMMV-LN) and most other CGMMV isolates from China , which further confirmed that the CGMMV-SDLoofah was an isolate of CGMMV .This was the first report of CGMMV infecting loofah in China .
