Cloning and Sequence Analysis ofα-Gliadin Genes from Aegilops caudata

Abstract：Fiveα-gliadin genes were cloned with a pair of specific primers from Aegilops caudata Y46 . Their sequences had higher similarity with those of the published α-gliadin genes of wheat and its kindred plants in NCBI , and their encoded amino acid sequences had polymorphism .None of the published epitopes related with celiac disease were discovered in the five α-gliadins , which was rare in wheat and its kindred plants .The evolution analysis declared that the α-gliadins from C genome had a close relationship with those from M and U genomes .
