Preliminary Study on Cutting Rooting and Seedling Formation Characteristics of Cherry Rootstock Shoots

Abstract：Using 8 kinds of cherry rootstocks at home and abroad as materials , the shoot cutting and transplanting tests were conducted to investigate the influences of different cutting periods , different concentra-tions of growth hormone on rooting characteristics .The results showed that , compared with control , three kinds of hormone treatments all obviously increased rooting rate and shortened rooting days .Among them, Yingzhenwang and Fushan Heiying produced new roots on the 10 th day after cutting .The cutting rooting rate on September 10 th in Yantai area was the highest , and the average rooting rate was 85%.Except for Ma-haleb,the seedling rate of the other 7 rootstocks were all above 75%.After transplanted for 1 year, the root-stocks suitable for grafting contained Mahaleb ,Yingzhenwang and Fushan Heiying .
