Abstract:The field experiments were conducted to study the effects of sowing date on growth period , ag-ronomic and yield traits of soybean cultivar Shanning 16 as material. The results were as follows:with the de-lay of sowing date , the days from seedling emergence to first blooming decreased , the days from blooming to mature changed fewer , and the structure of growth period increased .Delayed sowing decreased the vegetative growth period , plant height , bottom pod height and node numbers of main stem , and increased pod number per plant and grain number per plant .But the decrease of grain weight per plant and 100-grain weight affect-ed the yield more than that of the increase of pod number per plant and grain number per plant .Delayed so-wing was not benefit to seed filling and yield accumulation .
