Abstract:The pot experiments were conducted to study the influences of different biochar application levels on soil bulk density , pH value , organic matter and available nutrients contents and their change rules during tobacco growing period .The results showed that 1~2 kg biochar application in every pot could reduce the soil bulk density significantly by 12%~20%, but increased the pH value .The content of organic matter in soil was linearly correlated with the biochar application level .The application of Biochar reduced the con-tent of alkaline nitrogen in soil and restricted the nitrogen availability .Its application could improve the con-tent of available potassium in soil and make soil have the ability to continuously provide potassium , but had no significant effect on available phosphorus content .
