Abstract:Using 2-year-old Gongteng ‘Fuji’ apple/SH6/Malus hupenhensis as material, the effects of different buried depths of interstock ( T1-whole interstock was buried , T2-1/2 interstock was buried , T3-whole interstock was exposed ) on leaf protective enzyme activities and plant growth of apple sapling were studied .The results showed that the interstock buried depth was closely related to plant growth .The new shoot length and diameter , plant height , total fresh weight , fine root biomass were the highest and lowest under T 1 and T3 treatment respectively , and they were significantly different .The activities of leaf superoxide dismutase ( SOD) , catalase ( CAT ) and peroxidase ( POD ) had similar change laws throughout the growing season , which were the highest and lowest under T 1 and T3 treatment respectively .The SOD and CAT activities both increased firstly and then decreased , and reached the maximum in early July .The total nitrogen content , 15 N uptake and nitrogen utilization rate were the highest and lowest under T 1 and T3 treatment respectively too . Thus, whole interstock buried treatment could enhance the leaf protective enzyme activities , increase nitrogen fertilizer utilization rate , promote plant growth and strengthen tree potential .
