Comprehensive Evaluation on Cold Resistance of Different Pomegranate Cultivars

Abstract：With one year-old shoots of 4 pomegranate cultivars as materials , relevant parameters of cold resistance were measured and comprehensively compared by subordination function method . The results showed that the semilethal temperatures of shoots of 4 pomegranate cultivars, Piyaman,Mudan,Taishanhong and Taishansanbai ,were -5.68℃, -5.46℃, -5.11℃and -4.85℃respectively before sprouting in ear-ly spring .With the decrease of treatment temperature , the relative conductivity , MDA and POD activities gradually increased , while the CAT and SOD activities firstly increased and then decreased .Through compre-hensive subordination function analysis , the cold resistance of 4 pomegranate cultivars ranked as Mudan >Piy-aman>Taishansanbai>Taishanhong .Among them , Mudan and Piyaman were moderate cold -resistant varie-ties, while Taishansanbai and Taishanhong were low cold -resistant varieties .
