Analysis on Restriction of Source and Sink to Yield of Maize Hybrid Zhengdan 958

Abstract：The yield limiting factors of Zhengdan 958 were studied under 3 planting densities of 6 .0 × 104 , 6.7 ×104 and 7.3 ×104 plants per hectare using source -sink theory.The results showed that it was pos-sible to further improve Zhengdan 958 under the density of 6.75 ×104 plants per hectare or more in Yellow and Huai River valley .The yield limiting factors of Zhengdan 958 under the studied planting densities were all deficiency of source .
