Abstract:The disease-syndrome combined animal model, constructed based on the concept of syndrome differentiation and treatment, serves as a crucial approach for investigating the mechanisms underlying traditional Chinese medicine's intervention in the spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome in ulcerative colitis(UC).Analyzing the advantages and limitations of existing methods can offer insights and references for establishing a standardized disease-syndrome combined animal model and its associated evaluation systems.Through a comprehensive review of the recent literature on animal models of spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome in UC,this study has found that the current construction of such animal models in UC primarily combines the etiology and pathology-based modeling method with the chemical reagent method. The models constructed using this approach possess advantages such as high success rate, good stability, typical pathological changes, and high clinical con-sistency.However,the method of establishing models by combining etiology and pathology has the problem of non-unified drug administration cycle and dosage. The model evaluation system encompasses macroscopic characterization, physical and chemical indicators, and syndrome verification via formulas, presenting a relatively comprehensive approach.Nevertheless, the weights of each indicator remain unclear. There are 60 references.
