DENG Hualiang's Experience in Treating Refractory Reflux Esophagitis Based on"Congesting the Lung and Relating the Stomach"

Abstract：The lung and stomach are closely interconnected in terms of meridian circulation and the transportation and transformation of qi,blood,and body fluids.Professor DENG Hualiang believes that the site of refractory reflux esophagitis is in the esophagus and it is closely related to the lung and stomach.Its fundamental pathogenesis does not deviate from"congesting the lung and relating the stomach".When the lung qi rises in reverse,the stomach loses its harmonizing and descending function,and the lung and stomach fail to function properly,resulting in the spleen losing its normal transportation,the intestines being unable to expel qi smoothly,and over time,it leads to the accumulation of heat and a loss of harmony of the internal organs.In terms of treatment,the main principles are to clear the lung and and reduce the upward flow of qi,and to clear the stomach and purge heat.At the same time,other internal organs are taken into account,and are supplemented by promoting the circulation of qi and unblocking the intestines,nourishing yin and generating body fluids,strengthening the spleen and regulating the liver.Therefore,Professor DENG prescribes self-formulated Humo Jiangni Decoction(护膜降逆饮)for treatment,and the clinical efficacy is remarkabe.One test case is attached.
