Abstract:Objective:To study the effects of the heat-clearing and phlegm-dissolving therapy on the national institutes of health stroke scale(NIHSS),activities of daily living(ADL)score and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)levels in patients with mild to moderate acute ischemic stroke in perivascular artery supply area. Methods:According to the random number table method,103 patients with mild to moderate acute ischemic stroke in perivascular artery supply area were divided into a control group of 51 cases and a traditional Chinese medicine group of 52 cases. The control group received western medicine treatment, while the traditional Chinese medicine group was given the traditional Chinese medicine decoction for clearing heat and dissolving phlegm orally in addition to the treatment in the control group. The treatment course was 2 weeks for both groups. The efficacy,NIHSS score,ADL score and hs-CRP level of the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine group was 94.23%,while that of the control group was 78.43%.The overall therapeutic effect of the traditional Chinese medicine group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The improvement degrees of NIHSS score and ADL score in the traditional Chinese medicine group were better than those in the control group(all P<0.05),and the decrease amplitude of serum hs-CRP level was greater than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Heat-clearing and phlegm-dissolving therapy can reduce the degree of neurological deficits, improve the daily living activities, and lower serum levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein in patients with mild to moderate acute ischemic stroke in perivascular artery supply area.
