Abstract:This article systematically reviews the academic thoughts and clinical experience of Professor WANG Xinlu,a master of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),in diagnosing and treating myasthenia gravis based on the theory of blood turbidity.Myasthenia gravis can be classified under the category of flaccidity disease in TCM,and blood turbidity is an important pathological factor for its occurrence and development.Professor WANG Xinlu believes that the four core pathogenic mechanisms of the disease are spleen turbidity and yang stagnation, turbidity transforming into heat, blood turbidity blocking the collaterals, and turbidity damaging the spleen and kidneys. He proposes four methods:combining turbidity transformation with strengthening the spleen and ascending yang qi,clearing heat and nourishing the extremities, unblocking yang and dredging the collaterals, and warming the kidneys and benefiting the marrow. In clinical practice, the diagnosis and treatment of the underlying disease based on blood turbidity, integrating various methods flexibly often yields remarkable results, which provides a new approach for TCM in treating this disease and bridging the gap between Chinese and Western medicine. One medical case is attached.
