Abstract:Barrett's esophagus(BE)is a complication of gastroesophageal reflux disease and the only known precancerous lesion of esophageal adenocarcinoma.Professor WANG Qingguo,a master of traditional Chinese medicine, has proposed a distinctive diagnosis and treatment approach of"prioritizing disease differentiation, focusing on syndrome differentiation, supplementing with symptoms differentiation, and skillfully identifying the tendency".In treating BE,Professor WANG first identifies the disease and mainly prescribes Baiwu Xiexin Decoction(百乌泻心汤)combined with Danggui Buxue Decoction(当归补血 汤).He focuses on syndrome identification and distinguishes deficiency of the body's healthy qi and excess of pathogenic factors, and flexibly adds or subtracts prescriptions according to the changes of the pathogenesis. He takes symptom identification as the auxiliary step and appropriately adds or subtracts prescriptions according to the symptoms and signs. He takes tendency identification skillfully and treats the disease in advance based on its tendency to prevent canceration. In this way,"prioritizing disease differentiation, focusing on syndrome differentiation, supplementing with symptoms differentiation, and skillfully identifying the tendency the trend"can not only grasp the overall situation of BE,but also achieve appropriate treatment based on the syndrome, symptoms and and tendency, which often achieves good clinical efficacy.A test case is attached.
