Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of ultrasound-guided needle knife combined with platelet rich plasma(PRP)injection in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis of the humerus. Methods:Eighty patients with lateral epicondylitis of the humerus were selected and divided into an observa-tion group and a control group by using the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ultrasound-guided needle knife and local block therapy while the observation group was treated with ultrasound-guided needle knife combined with PRP injection. The visual analogue scale(VAS)score, modified Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)score,Mayo elbow performance score(MEPS),the levels of inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6]and the shear wave velocity(maximum, minimum, and average)of the common tendon of the inferior extensor muscle under ultrasound of the two groups were compared. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated. Results:After treatment, the VAS scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The modified HSS scores and MEPS were higher than those before treatment, and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-6 in both groups decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the shear wave velocity of the total extensor tendon in both groups increased, and that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 90%,which was higher than 65%of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ultrasound-guided needle knife combined with PRP injection can improve the clinical efficacy of patients with lateral epicondylitis of the humerus, relieve elbow joint pain, and facilitate the functional recovery of the elbow joint.
