Research Progress on Gegen Qinlian Decoction(葛根芩连汤)for Treating Damp-Heat Intestinal Diseases

Abstract：This article analyzes the molecular mechanism and clinical efficacy of Gegen Qinlian Decoction(葛根芩连汤)in the treatment of damp-heat intestinal diseases from the perspective of treating different diseases with the same treatment.Studies have shown that Gegen Qinlian Decoction has a remarkable therapeutic effect on patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome,ulcerative colitis and colorectal cancer with damp-heat accumulation in the intestines through its single application,modified application with additions and subtractions or combination with Western medicine.Its mechanism of action involves multiple pathways,including regulating the intestinal flora,inhibiting opportunistic pathogenic bacteria and increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria;regulating the levels of inflammatory factors and related signaling pathways;regulating T-cell immune balance and repairing the intestinal mucosal barrier;reducing oxidative stress responses,etc.Clinically,it can effectively relieve and improve the discomfort symptoms of patients with damp-heat type intestinal diseases,and enhance their quality of life,with a prospect of providing a basis and ideas for the experimental research and clinical application of the prevention and treatment of damp-heat type intestinal diseases.There are 40 references.
