Effects of Shaolin Internal Alchemy on Strength and Stability of Acupoint Manipulation

Abstract：Objective:To observe the effects of Shaolin internal alchemy on the strength and stability of acupoint manipulation.Methods:Sixty college students were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group by using the random number table method,with 30 students in each group.The control group conducted push-up training,while the observation group additionally practiced Shaolin internal alchemy on this basis.The maximum force of the acupoint manipulation,the average force during the maintenance period,and the coefficient of variation of force during the force application period,maintenance period and force reduction period of the acupoint manipulation in the two groups after the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th weeks of training were compared.Results:After 2 weeks of training,the maximum force of the acupoint manipulation in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P＜0.05),and the coefficient of variation of force during the maintenance period of the acupoint manipulation in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.01).After 3 weeks of training,the maximum force of the acupoint manipulation and the average force during the maintenance period of the acupoint manipulation in the observation group were greater than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After 4 weeks of training,the maximum strength during the acupoint manipulation and the average strength during the maintenance period in the observation group were greater than those in the control group(P＜0.05),and the coefficient of variation of strength during the acupoint manipulation maintenance period in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the coefficient of variation of strength during the acupoint manipulation force application period and the acupoint manipulation force reduction period compared with that of the control group(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Shaolin internal alchemy can enhance the strength and stability of acupoint manipulation,improve the problem of insufficient strength and endurance during the maintenance period of acupoint manipulation,which is conducive to improving the learning efficiency of acupoint manipulation and promoting their clinical application.
