Abstract:Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of combining the five-acupoint oral muscle stimulation method with speech training in the treatment of children with functional articulation disorder(FAD).Methods:A total of 57 children with FAD were included and randomly divided into an observation group(28 cases)and a control group(29 cases)by using a random number table. The children in the control group received conventional rehabilitation care and speech training, while the children in the observation group were treated with five-acupoint oral muscle stimulation method on the basis of the treatment in the control group. Both groups of children received 12 weeks of treatment. The articulation clarity, the number of correct pronunciation of initial consonants, the oral motor function of the two groups of children were compared before and after treatment respectively. And the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. Results:After treatment, the articulation clarity and the number of correct pronunciation of initial consonants in both groups of children were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the motor function scores of the mandible, lip, and tongue in both groups of children were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.01).The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 100%,which was higher than 86.21%in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Five-acupoint oral muscle stimulation method combined with speech training can effectively enhance the basic articulation ability and oral motor function of children, alleviate articulation disorders, and demonstrate better therapeutic effects compared with conventional treatment.
