Abstract：Based on his clinical experience,Professor ZHANG Hongchun holds that the lung is a delicate organ,and the treatment for lung should be mild.Huzhang(POLYGONI CUSPIDATI RHIZOMA ET RADIX)with the function of regulating qi and harmonizing the lungs,unblocking the blood vessels,promoting defecation and urination,clearing heat-toxins,dispersing wind and draining dampness,and dissipating accumulations,could be applied clinically for various lung diseases.Through summarizing ancient Chinese medical literature and modern pharmacological research,Professor ZHANG Hongchun's experience in treating pulmonary diseases with Huzhang was summarized,and the characteristics of combination law and clinical application of Huzhang was analyzed.Professor ZHANG Hongchun's thoughts on treating pulmonary diseases was introduced with clinical cases,aiming at to assist the clinical practice.
