Exploration on the Characteristics of Sechu School in Treating Throb and Palpitation by Abdominal Diagnosis

Abstract：In the monographs by the Sechu school abdominal diagnosis,there are rich records about throb and palpitation.The purpose of this paper is to review the medical theories related to throb and palpitation in the monographs,summarize the understanding by Sechu school abdominal diagnosis for the disease mechanism of throb and palpitation and the corresponding formulas,and compare with the abdominal diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),so as to provide new ideas and theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of throb and palpitation.The study found that the abdominal diagnosis by Sechu school distinguished the difference between throb and palpitation,and differentiated them from physiological and pathological manifestations.It focuses on the application of the theories of motive qi between kidneys,monarch fire,and ministerial fire in the treatment of throb and palpitation,and gives corresponding medicinals and formulas for throb and palpitation in the chest and abdomen.Abdominal diagnosis by the Sechu school integrates the theories of abdominal diagnosis by school of Classic of Difficulties and school of Cold Damage.Based on the clinical experience of doctors,it proposes a unique theory for the diagnosis and treatment of throb and palpitation.Compared with the abdominal diagnosis of TCM,abdominal diagnosis by Sechu school takes throb and palpitation as a routine examination for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases which is more widely applied with the principle,method,formula and medicinals being more systemic.It is helpful to improve the treatment of throb and palpitation by abdominal diagnosis of TCM,taking references to the theoretical elucidation and diagnosis and treatment experience of abdominal diagnosis by Sechu school on throb and palpitation.Besides,abdominal diagnosis should be promoted more widely in clinical application,so as to further improve the clinical efficacy.
