Abstract:Intervening in the pre-metastatic niche(PMN)based on exosome targets and related mechanisms has become a new direction in tumor therapy, which is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of tumor metastasis.Combining the role of exosomes in driving the remodeling of the PMN and the characte-ristics of the PMN,such as immunosuppression, metabolic reprogramming, and choroidal neovascularization,it is found that tumor-deriving exosomes(TDEs)are compatible with the connotation of the theory of"cancer toxin"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and that the PMN can be categorized as a pathological state of"healthy qi deficiency with toxin accumulation".The interaction between"tumor-deriving exosomes and the pre-metastatic microenvironment"can be studied from the perspective of"cancer toxin driving healthy qi deficiency with toxin accumulation".We can adjust the bias of PMN macroscopically, and precisely attack their exosome targets microscopically,to cut off the pathological process of exosome-driving construction of PMN,so as to provide the theoretical support and practical basis for the intervention of PMN of tumors with TCM.
