Exploring Application of Dredging Method in Erectile Dysfunction Based on Theory of Sweat Pore-Kidney Collaterals

Abstract:According to its clinical manifestations,modern doctors classify erectile dysfunction(ED)into the categories of impotence,non-use of yin organs and tendon flaccidity.As a key structure to regulate kidney and sexual function,the sweat pore-kidney collaterals participate in the whole process of regulating reproductive activities,and maintain the normal function of kidney storing essence and governing reproduction.In the development of ED,changes of sweat pore-kidney collaterals include four pathological stages:stagnation of collateral qi,disharmony of sweat pore,and penis failing to erect;damp heat blocking collaterals,disturbed sweat pore,sexual impotence;blood stasis blocking collaterals,stagnated sweat pore,penis failing to erect;kidney collaterals deficiency,malnutrition of sweat pore,and sexual impotence forming.Based on the theory of sweat pore-kidney collaterals,with the unblocking method as the core,four therapeutic methods are derived according to different pathological stages,including dredging liver and unblocking collaterals to open the sweat pore,clearing heat and draining dampness to smooth the sweat pore,dredging collaterals and resolving stasis to unblock the sweat pore,and unblocking,tonifying and nourishing collaterals to consolidate the sweat pore,aiming to provide a new perspective for the differentiation and treatment of ED in clinic.
