Abstract:Premenstrual syndrome(PMS),a common disorder among women at reproductive age,is characterized by emotional disturbances and somatic symptoms.Western medical treatments face limitations in pharmacological efficacy and potential adverse effects. This study systematically explores the pathological mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for PMS based on the theory of static yin and dynamic yang of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).The paper posits that yin-yang disharmony(excessive dynamic yang or excessive static yin)is the foundation for the occurrence of PMS,with liver qi stagnation identified as the core disease mechanism.Symptoms caused by dynamic yang primarily stem from yin blood deficiency and yang qi hyperactivity, whereas static yin manifesta-tions correlate with yang qi deficiency, phlegm and dampness obstruction, and qi and blood insufficiency.Therapeutic strategies emphasize harmonizing yin and yang as the foundational principle, integrating with menstrual cycle modulation and constitutional regulation.Multimodal interventions such as Chinese medicinals, acupuncture and moxibustion,Qi Gong exercises, and music therapy are employed to restore the state of peaceful yin and hidden yang. The theory of static yin and dynamic yang is applied as the bridge tentatively to promote the application of yin-yang theory in gynecological emotional disorders and propose novel insights for PMS management.
