Abstract：Systems traditional Chinese medicine(STCM)is a modern field of research that emerged in the 1980s,born from the intersection of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and systems science.It applies the theories and methods of systems science,integrated with relevant knowledge,to delve into and decipher the complexities of human life,aiming to reveal the principles of life activities and the mechanisms of disease prevention and treatment.This discipline not only intensively studies and elucidates the fundamental theories of STCM and their applications across various fields but also actively explores its use and development in clinical research and practice.Throughout its research and development,it is essential to uphold the core values and scientific essence of TCM,preserve the systemic perspective of TCM,and maintain the fundamental nature,direction,and themes of STCM research.On this foundation of maintaining integrity,the field must innovate and break new ground,guiding the modernization of TCM and promoting academic,theoretical,and practical innovation.
