Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of swinging head and tail in eight pieces of brocade combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF)neck movement pattern on balance function in stroke pa-tients.Methods:Sixty stroke patients meeting the in-clusion criteria were randomly allocated to either a control group or an experimental group, with 30 patients in each. The control group underwent stan-dard rehabilitation therapy, while the experimental group received the same therapy supplemented by the swinging head and tail in eight pieces of bro-cade exercise and PNF neck movement pattern. Both groups received three weeks of treatment.Balance function was evaluated using the Postural Assess-ment Scale for Stroke patients(PASS),Trunk Impairment Scale(TIS),and Berg Balance Scale(BBS)before and after the intervention. Results:After three weeks of treatment, both groups showed significant improve-ment in TIS scores,PASS scores, and BBS scores were compared to those before treatment(P<0.01).The ex-perimental group demonstrated greater improvement in TIS total scores,PASS scores, and BBS scores bcom-pared to the control group(P<0.05).The experimental group showed statistically significant improvement in static and dynamic sitting balance on the TIS subscale compared with control group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between the groups in the coordination subscale(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of swinging head and tail in eight pieces of brocade exercise with PNF neck movement pattern effectively enhances postural control and balance function in stroke patients, showing superior therapeutic effects compared to conventional treatment.
