Clinical Study on 43 Cases of Senile Constipation Treated with Yiqi Bushen Formula

Abstract：Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Bushen formula on senile constipation. Methods:Eighty six patients with senile constipation were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine lactulose oral solution and mosapride citrate dispersible tablets,while the observation group was treated with Yiqi Bushen formula. The changes of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom scores and stool character scores were compared be-tween the two groups. The relief of symptoms was evaluated by the clinical scoring system of constipation, and the adverse reactions were recorded. Results:After 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of dizziness,shortness of breath,weak pulse and pale tongue were decreased,and the decrease in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate in the observation group was high-er than that in the control group(P<0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of constipation symp-toms decreased,while the stool character scores increased,the changes in the observation group were more obvious than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the obser-vation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Yiqi Bushen formula is effec-tive and safe in the treatment of senile constipation.
