Clinical Study of Using Bushen Huayu Formula Combined with Xiaoyao Powder Treating Adolescent Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Abstract：Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Bushen Huayu formula combined with Xiaoyao powder on adolescent polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). Methods:There were 35 patients with adolescent PCOS meet-ing the inclusion criteria. The patients were treated with Bushen Huayu formula combined with Xiaoyao powder for 3 months. The state of menstruation,the level of serum testosterone,the ratio of luteinizing hor-mone(LH)/follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),the volume of bilateralovaries and the number of follicles were observed. Results:The state of menstruation was improved significantly. 11 cases were cured(31.43%),16 cases were improved(45.71%)and 8 cases of no effect(22.86%),with the total effective rate of 77.14%. Af-ter the treatment,serum testosterone level,LH/FSH,the volume of ovary and the number of follicles were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion:Bushen Huayu formula combined with Xiaoyao powder can improve the menstruation of patients with adolescent PCOS,reduce the level of LH/FSH,serum testos-terone,the number of follicles and the volume of ovary.
