Abstract:Objectives:To explore the protective effects of the Huoxue Xiezhuo formula on the renal injury in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods:Sixty patients underwent PCI and were di-vided into the treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine treatment and hydration treatment before operation. The treatment group was treated with Huoxue Xiezhuo formula 3 days before operation. The two groups were observed on the levels of serum creatinine(SCr),creatinine clearance rate(CCr),cystatin C(CysC),serum uric acid(SUA)before and after PCI. Results:On the levels of SCr,CysC and SUA the two groups 24 hr after PCI increased sig-nificantly(P<0.05),and the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05). On the levels of CCr two groups were significantly decreased 24 hr after PCI(P<0.05),and the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). On the levels of SCr and SUA,two groups increased significantly 5 days after PCI(P<0.05),and the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05). On the levels of CCr,two groups significantly decreased 5 days after PCI(P<0.05),and the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). Compared with before operation, there was no significant difference on CysC in the two groups 5 days after PCI(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusions:Contrast agent may cause injuries on renal function during PCI,but Huoxue Xiezhuo formula can effectively decrease the levels of serum SCr, CysC,SUA and increase the level of CCr after PCI. Huoxue Xiezhuo formula has renal protective effect.
