Clinical Study on Needling Thirteen Ghost Acupoints Treating Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy

Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of needling thirteen ghost acupoint treating minimal hep-atic encephalopathy. Methods:Seventy-four cases of minimal hepatic encephalopathy were randomly divided into control group of 36 cases(lactulose and enteric bifid-triple viable capsule) and treatment group of 38 cases(needling thirteen ghost acupoints acupuncture besides treatment in the control group). After 2 weeks, neuropsychlogical test was performed and liver function ,blood ammonia levels were also examined. Results:After two weeks treatment,the neuropsychlogical test results in the treatment group was improved significant-ly , with statistical difference ( P<0 . 05 ) . Liver function indexes and blood ammonia levels in the treatment group significantly decreased compared with those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Needling thirteen ghost acupoints could treat the minimal hepatic encephalopathy with obvious effect ,for it could improve the neuropsychlogical test results and significantly reduce liver function indexes and blood ammonia levels.
