Experience of Professor ZHU Guiting in Treating Insomnia from the Liver

Abstract：Professor ZHU Guiting holds that sleep is closely related to hun-spirit in the liver. Insomnia is due to liver failing to store hun-spirit and internal damage due to emotional disorder. Insomnia could be di-vided into liver qi stagnation,heart and liver blood deficiency,liver fire disturbing hun-spirit and blood sta-sis,totally four types. Correspondingly,the treatment is regulating and harmonizing qi and blood,soothing the hun-spirit,to treat the root and branch simultaneously. In clinic,Professor ZHU often uses the leaf and stem of peanut to make decoction for feet bath,as well as tranquilizing herbs.
