Abstract:Objective:To study the mechanism of the cupping, and to give a guide for the clinic. Methods:The healthy mini swine was given cupping therapy. The body signs were observed ,and the changes of relat-ed factors of the skin were determined through immunohistochemical and molecular biological methods. Re sults: The level of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) was lower in the cupping group than that in the control group, with statistical difference(P<0.05),and the level of epidermal growth factor(EGF) was al-so lower in the cupping group. Conclusions:The mini swine is applicable as the experimental animal in the mechanism study of cupping, and cupping could change the level of VEGF and EGF in the local skin to af-fect the proliferative function of vascular endothelial cells and epidermal cells.
