Study on Monosaccharide Components of Polysaccharide from Lonicera japonica Thumb by Thin Layer Chromatography Combined with Gas Chromatography

Abstract：Objective:To analyze monosaccharide components and its proportion to polysaccharide from Lonicera japonica Thumb by thin layer chromatography ( TLC ) and gas chromatography ( GC ) . Methods:Lonicera japonica polysaccharide was extracted by hot water extraction method ,monosaccharide components of polysaccharide was analyzed using TLC and GC. Results:The results revealed that Lonicera japonica polysaccharide consisted of glucose,galactose,manmose,rhamnose,xylose and arabinose,in the ratio of 23.6:3.3:1.8:2.3:1.0:4.2,respectively. Conclusion:This experiment identified components and proportion of monosac-charide of Lonicera japonica polysaccharide. It laid the foundation for further research of Lonicera japonica polysaccharide.
